Tailgatin and Two Steppin: Staff Reunion 2010
Thank you to everyone who was able to come out for the Staff Reunion. We had such a blast hanging out with you again. It was so great to see staff from K-State, OSU, UCO, MSU, and our local ARK staff. We just set everything up, but you are the ones who made it fun!
Let's take a minute to reflect on the Two Steppin' Competition. Jessica Tolan and Derick McKinney...you stole our hearts. Not quite the two step, but you sure do know how to whip your hair back and forth!
We've heard alot of positive comments about the event and obviously want to continue having reunions that are ALL ABOUT YOU! So if you have suggestions or feedback, please shoot me an email so we can make it better every year. hanna@campwareagle.org. Thanks again for coming everyone! It is such a blessing to get to see you all again! Pictures will be posted soon.

Three Words
Hello CWE Staff...
I hope that October has found you with a ton of excitement in your life... Football Season, Midterms, Social Clubs and good times with friends have hopefully filled your thoughts and time. However I wanted to share a small part of a post from Jon Acuff's "Stuff Christians Like" Blog. Jon is definitely one of my favorite bloggers. I share his sense of humor because he makes me laugh (Look at this short post... CWE all the WAY) and at the same time reminds me that Jesus died for our sins and we are here to glorify Him.
This post is very simple and I pray that we all remember that GOD LOVES US... even in the midst of our crazy fall schedules...
But today will be different. Today, like Abraham stacking a pile of rocks in a place God showed up as a reminder for generations to come, I just want to write of love. I want these words to be rocks and I want the reminder to be simple.
God loves you.
God loves you.
God loves you.
I don’t have a witty insight or a clever twist to leave you thinking about. I just have those three words and I hope they sink in today. I hope in meetings and the grocery store and waiting in the car pick up line at your kid’s school, you will hear that whisper too. And you will know.
God loves you.
1 John 4:9-11
9This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
Feel free to post your comments and thoughts...

Devo - Sept 30, 2010
Hey Guys,
Welcome to our blog again! This is new and pretty sweet if you ask me. We want this blog to not just give you information on upcoming things but also share with, encourage, and challenge you with some things that we have been learning about here at camp! You all can even post comments about what you think and keep us informed about the how God is teaching you!
I wanted to share this FIRST ONE with you all to get us started! I was reading this devotional from "My Utmost For His Highest" by Oswald Chambers about prayer, and it really made me sit there and ask myself alot of questions.
Questions like:
How do I pray in Secret?
Do I pray in Secret?
When was the last time I've had solitude time?
Have I ever done solitude time?
When DO I pray?
...
Take 2 minutes out of your busyness and read this real quick...
Praying to God in Secret
When you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place . . . —Matthew 6:6
The primary thought in the area of religion is— keep your eyes on God, not on people. Your motivation should not be the desire to be known as a praying person. Find an inner room in which to pray where no one even knows you are praying, shut the door, and talk to God in secret. Have no motivation other than to know your Father in heaven. It is impossible to carry on your life as a disciple without definite times of secret prayer.
“When you pray, do not use vain repetitions . . .” (Matthew 6:7). God does not hear us because we pray earnestly— He hears us solely on the basis of redemption. God is never impressed by our earnestness. Prayer is not simply getting things from God— that is only the most elementary kind of prayer. Prayer is coming into perfect fellowship and oneness with God. If the Son of God has been formed in us through regeneration (see Galatians 4:19), then He will continue to press on beyond our common sense and will change our attitude about the things for which we pray.
“Everyone who asks receives . . .” (Matthew 7:8). We pray religious nonsense without even involving our will, and then we say that God did not answer— but in reality we have never asked for anything. Jesus said, “. . . you will ask what you desire. . .” (John 15:7). Asking means that our will must be involved. Whenever Jesus talked about prayer, He spoke with wonderful childlike simplicity. Then we respond with our critical attitude, saying, “Yes, but even Jesus said that we must ask.” But remember that we have to ask things of God that are in keeping with the God whom Jesus Christ revealed.
More Questions:
How do I pray?
Why do I pray?...for what?
...out of my own selfishness?...OR...out of complete and undistracted worship to our Amazing Father?
This week, let's worship our Amazing Father through a time of solitude and secret prayer...I challenge you to find time to do that too!
Thoughts? Post it!
